Hello Friends,
There are two amazing trainings happening here in Asheville on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday April 15, 2012, both from 11:00 AM to 6:00PM and we want you to come! We are part of more than 800 people across the country who have stepped up to teach the 99% Spring Non Violent Direct Action Training.
We’re helping to prepare folks to join a huge wave direct action happening nationwide this spring. All over America, the 99% movement is getting ready for 60 days of protests, sit-ins, rallies, marches, and more—all aimed and confronting the power, greed, and influence of the “1%” and the policies destroying our planet and our economies.
It’s exciting and we hope you can be part of it! At the trainings here in Asheville, we’ll be preparing ourselves to take part in bold actions, and taking the opportunity build strong connections with caring people who want to see a 99% Spring in America. The Saturday Training is happening at UNCA and the Sunday Training is happening at AB Tech.
We’ll practice telling the story of what happened to our economy and environment, and what a different future will look like, we’ll learn the history of nonviolent direct action, and we’ll train and plan to take direct action—in the footsteps of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.—we will win change.
We have an amazing shared history of everyday people using direct action to transform the political landscape in this country from the civil rights movement to Occupy Wall Street.
This spring, we want you to join us in becoming part of history right here in Asheville. Will you join us?

Maybe not what I would write, but it does touch on the need for a re-enforced community. We are one, so let’s act like one. Let’s care for each other with compassion and love. Support those wrongfully accused and build a stronger sense of belonging. Let us recognize our privileges and use that recognition constructively. As a campus community our energy needs to change to be inclusive and understanding. Immature use of words and actions do not lead to a healthy community, however, open communication and constructive use of space does. We’re all active community members, let us live and love like we’re apart of this community.
Busting out a window to gain access to a building you should not have been in after hours is not okay.
Taking a torch to an ATM is not okay.
Spray painting a wall with your “message” is not okay.
The Carpentry and Locksmith crews will have to fix that broken window.
BB&T will have to replace their

It’s wonderful to be surround by a loving community. This is what makes me grow. Song, food, bikerides, story time, hugs, laughter and joy. Knowing what’s right. Exploring new things. Being open to love. Loving all the comes close to me, and allowing myself to be vulnerable. This life is meant to be an adventure.
